Our Crossroads Veterinary Hospital veterinary team performs a wide array of vet surgical procedures for pets in Gilbert, including spays & neuters, soft tissue, and dental surgeries.
Veterinary Surgery
We offer a wide array of veterinary surgical procedures for dogs and cats in the Gilbert area, using advanced surgical techniques, equipment and protocols.
During each veterinary surgery, a dedicated staff member will continuously monitor your pet using patient monitoring equipment to ensure everything goes smoothly. We also provide pain management.
Post-operative monitoring and pain management are our priority following surgery. Your vet will also provide thorough instructions for at-home care.
What to Expect from Veterinary Surgery
We always endeavor to keep you fully informed about why we are recommending surgery for your cat or dog.
We will also advise you about any pre- or post-operative care you should provide for your pet at home. We practice stringent surgical protocols at our clinic.
Surgical Laser Technology
We conduct many of our operations using special surgical lasers instead of scalpels.
Lasers reduce the risk of infection in the surgical wound, increase healing speed, results in less pain for your pet and causes them par less post-operative discomfort.
We are proud to be one of the few veterinary practices in the Gilbert area to offer laser surgery to our patients.
Surgical Procedures
Our vets at Crossroads Veterinary Hospital routinely perform the following elective and non-elective surgeries:
- Soft Tissue Surgery
For pets suffering from ear, nose and throat disorders, we offer soft tissue surgical procedures.
These procedures are also available for hepatic, urogenital, oncological, cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal and skin disorders.
- Spaying & Neutering
When we spay or neuter a cat or dog, we surgically sterilize them to prevent disease and provide them with an extended life expectancy.
- Dental Surgery
Our veterinarians provide dental surgeries for dogs and cats. These surgeries can range from tooth extractions to gum disease treatment and jaw fracture repairs.
The Vet Surgery Process
We know that the idea of bringing your pet in for surgery can be an anxiety-inducing one. We want to assure you, however, that we only recommend surgery for your pet if it is in their best interests.
We will make sure that you fully understand why we are recommending surgery for them as well as do what we can to help you feel comfortable with making the decision to move forward.
Surgical protocols at our clinic include:
Pre-surgical assessments. We will confirm the specifics of your pet's procedure, complete a physical exam of them, and conduct the required tests to make sure it is safe to put them under anesthesia.
Dedicated surgical suites. Surgeries are performed in a dedicated surgical suite. This room is kept completely sterile to prevent infection and cross-contamination.
Surgical attire. Our staff wear masks and caps at all time while in the surgical suite. Vets involved in the surgery itself will also wear single use gloves and sterile gowns to help protect your pet.
Sterile packs and equipment. We carefully clean, sterilize and wrap our surgical instruments and equipment prior to every surgery.
